About

  • Shredders is a video game. A love letter to snowboarding, Shredders takes inspiration from a lot of awesome snowboarding movies, the Amped games from the original Xbox and the snowboarding heroes on Instagram. Shredders is a passion project for riders, by riders.

  • The gameplay is a balance between arcade and simulation, a bit like the Skate series.

  • Shredders is available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam.

  • We have no plans to develop a version for Xbox One or PS4, as these consoles are below the specs we need for Shredders. Previously, Shredders was accessible on Xbox One through Game Pass Ultimate via Xbox Cloud Gaming, but this option is no longer available.

  • Currently, no. For a short time in early 2023 however, you could purchase a physical version of the PS5 game. This Limited Run edition includes the Original Soundtrack by Jennifur and a hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Only 2,160 copies were made (that’s 6 full rotations).

Pros & Brands

Multiplayer

  • Absolutely! Shredders automatically connects you to a multiplayer session in the area where you are riding. This means that every other rider you see is a real person playing (anywhere in the world). You can ride with friends or invite players to your private session with room codes.

    Multiplayer is enabled by default on PC. On Xbox and PlayStation, you need an Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus subscription.

  • Yes, Shredders supports public play between all platforms. You can also create a private session from the multiplayer menu and invite friends from any platform by sharing your unique room code.

    You can disable cross-play in the settings.

  • Shredders constantly launches Hotspots: goto locations with competitive challenges that are synced globally and cross-platform.

Modding

  • We are focusing first on delivering the best snowboarding experience. While we don’t officially support mods (yet), we are keen to see where the community will take this. You can find one of the larger mod Discords here.

  • We are looking into options to bring user-generated maps to consoles, but it would require a lot of extra work (moderation, optimization, legal). We still plan to add new original content to the game in the future, but with a limited team, budget, and multiplatform parity, we have to prioritize.

Development

  • Currently, we don’t have a public timeline for future updates. But we’re not done!

  • It’s not on our schedule, but never say never. It would take quite a bit of work to make skiing feel as good as the snowboarding.

  • We’re open to ideas and feedback. You’ll have a bigger chance of being heard if you’re constructive and polite. shredders@i-illusions.com

  • If you own a shop or venue and you have a screen, why not run some awesome Shredders gameplay? We’ve created a 15’ long retail video that you can just play in a loop. Free download!

    It’s also great for parties and events ;-)

  • Shredders comes with an Original Soundtrack composed by Belgian producer Jennifur. He channeled the energy of the game into 15 mind-blowing tracks. 12 of them make up the album ‘Nowhere, Now Here (music made for the game Shredders)’, available on all music streaming services.

  • Share your best clips & pics shot in Shredders online using the hashtag #ShotinShredders.

    Sometimes we do a little remix and/or collab post. For that, it’s best to WeTransfer your footage in its highest resolution to shotinshredders@i-illusions.com. Our favorites will be featured on Shredders’ Instagram (@shreddersgame) and other official Shredders channels.

    IMPORTANT: We love mods, but for copyright and trademark reasons, we cannot feature imagery containing brands or products that are not in the official game.

Various

  • You bet it does!

  • Yes, you can. Open the Character editor and scroll to Bindings. You can switch between Regular and Goofy with the Y-button.

  • Fire up the drone, hold the L1/LB-button, and use the D-pad to move the sun around. 🌞

  • Sprinkled around the world of Shredders are a whole bunch of Gaps, which when jumped over, will give you new gear depending on whether you cleared the gap, and what score you got while doing so.

    — White flag: gap has not been cleared yet
    — Green flag: gap was cleared with 500 points or more, but less than 1.000
    — Red flag: gap was cleared with 1.000 points or more, but less than 2.500
    — Black flag: gap was cleared with 2.500 points or more

    Only black-flagged gaps count for the achievements ‘Mind the Gap’ and ‘Mind (all) the Gaps’.

  • You can find tutorials on our YouTube channel. Many shredders also share their knowledge on the Shredders Discord.

  • If you’ve found a bug and think it’s not listed yet, please email us at shredders@i-illusions.com. Mention the platform you’re playing on and your in-game username.     2. Ensure you’re using the latest version of the game.

    3. Remove all mods and mods managers.
